AIR indicator reflects the total greenhouse gas emission directly or indirectly associated with the production of a 0.75 liter bottle of wine. Its value is calculated in terms of kg of CO2 equivalent. The life cycle of a bottle of wine comprises four main phases: vineyard management, transformation of grapes into wine, bottling, distribution, bottles refrigeration and glass disposal.
The emissions produced by each phase (named respectively vineyard, cellar distribution and consumption) are measured as a percentage of the total emissions produced during the life cycle of one bottle of wine.

The indicator WATER quantifies the volume of fresh water used directly or indirectly for the production of a 0.75 liter bottle of wine. Water consumption takes into account three different types of water: rain water (green water), irrigation water (blue water) and recycled irrigation water (grey water). The volume of each kind of water is expressed as a percentage of the overall volume of water consumed during production activities.
